Events

It is the mission of The Society of American Magicians to promote an environment for the worldwide magic community that fosters fellowship, preservation of the magical arts, ethical standards, education, and personal growth.

We have been very fortunate as an Assembly to have played host to not one, but five National Presidents of The Society of American Magicians. Our first visit was from the Most Illustrious Willam “Bill” Andrews when he presented our first President Shawn Farquhar with our Charter. Since then we have had hosted Kenrick “Ice” McDonald, Vinny Grosso, Mark Weidhaas, and Steve Spence. In 2022 our very own Secretary, Rod Chow, will become the very first non US citizen to be inducted as the National President when the National Council meets in Quebec City in July.

MAGIC DINNERS

Since the inception of Assembly #95 we have hosted a gala dinner almost every year to induct our Officers, present our awards, witness the magic of a guest professional, share in the fellowship or our members and to have a great meal.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Assembly #95 has produced magic events throughout its history. Most notable would be our annual presentations at Telus Science World in Vancouver. Over the years we have entertained hundreds of thousands of guests. Our Assembly is also active in our local magic community by sponsoring events such as the One Handed Cut-A-Thon which was originally created by our Dean, Shawn Farquhar, for the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians, but has gone onto to be used in other magic events as well.

ASSEMBLY PHOTO

Each we gather to take a photo of our members as a group for historical purposes. This is not a complete collection, nor does it actually encompass all our members, but it is still a nice memento that may be treasured with time.
